A Jeep owner once told me they all wave at each other, too. Seems kind of funny when you think about it. All these little exclusive "clubs" of people all waving at each other as they pass on the roads and waters. Almost comical. First time I got my bike and another biker waved, I was thinking WTH? Did I know that guy? There should be a class for first time riders so we all know the drill.
ROFL..........

This is gettin' too good

Back in the "old days" motorcyclists used to wave at each other out on the highway as we all knew that if we had a problem, probably the only person that would stop to help would be another motorcyclist. You need all the friends you can get when you're a hundred miles from nowhere. Seems like these days, unless you ride the right bike (H-D), you're just not good enough to be noticed. I still will nod or wave to everyone out there on the road (freeway or highway), but do my best to ignore H-D people in town as they won't return a wave anyway because I'm not on the right bike (I usually ride a Buell, not a Harley) and these idiots don't even know that they're related.....pathetic
bunch or posers, these new riders......end of rant....

I like this one: "Disclaimer: No Harley Riders were hurt in the making of this thread, because most of them either can't read or are "too good" for this awesome forum"

I have a Buell too and I still wave at Harleys, Kawasakis,Hondas,Yamahas,Suzuki's,KTMs's BMW's, Ducati's,etc,etc..... I just don't see anything wrong with enthuiasum about motorcycling and general friendlyness. If you don't want to wave don't. Like I said there are cool Harley riders and jackass Harley riders, same for Kawasaki,Honda,Yamaha,Suzukis,KTMss BMW, Ducatis, etc, etc riders. I don't think it's the Harley that makes someone an idiot, that's just a repercussion of poor parenting LOL. I have a Harley and I'm fully aware of who Eric Buell is and the whole history of Buell motorcycles, and that my XB9R has a heavily modified Harley sportster engine in it. Like I said before there is that crowd that want's to play 1%er and then there is the touring crowd. Seem's as though there are some people that are just as prejudiced against Harley riders as they accuse the Harley riders of being prejudiced against them.

"XB9R has a heavily modified Harley sportster engine in it".Let me rephrase that before I catch hell. The Thunderstorm engine is more like based on a sportster engine. However the older Buells like the M2 and ST3 do in fact use heavily modified Harley sportster engines.

This whole thing could be on Seinfeld.

Jerry: So we're out on a date....and uh...she didn't wave.

George: No wave?

Jerry: ....no wave.

George: So what did you do?

Jerry: Well, that's it. I mean, how could I be with someone that doesn't wave?

George: You can't..its unheard of...where does she get off? Who does she think she is where she doesn't feel she has to wave in our society? Ya know, ifMussolini didn't wave they would have shunned him right out of Italy.

(Jerry nods head)

(Elaine enters)

Jerry: Elaine, would you date someone that didn't wave?

Elaine: Dump-o-la

Jerry: See.. I was right.

(Kramer slides in)

Jerry: Hey, its the K-man. Hey, let me ask you something.

Kramer: Hit me, buddy.

Jerry: Would you date someone that wouldn't wave?

(Kramer looks like he was blown back by a gust of wind)

Kramer: Doesn't wave? What kind of people are you hanging around with?

I find that the tight group is and what we are is dirt riders... i passed a bunch of quads stuck in the mud as i putted through the same mud without a problem they all nodded, i couldnt wave too busy. They were all cool about it... but road riders, different story, they are cut from a different cloth, but true riders will wave.... doesnt bother me. I still get many looks when i ride the green machine.
