I saw a picture of a klx300r with a molded cover that covers the water pump & lower hoses. I searched but can't seem to find who makes them. I found one mention it like it was a kawasaki part. Anyone know more about these?

If you ride in rocks, you need protection, go with a skid plate.

 

Good advice. I do intend to get a skid plate. I would still love to hear from those who know. Who makes these? What are they called? I ride some logged areas where sticks can get jambed into pegs etc regularly. I've seen the aluminium version that bolts to the forward motor mount, but like the looks of the molded one, like stroker in the pic linked to my 1st post.

I got the alum skid, had a couple of big hits last month & in CO. Planning on removing it this winter and bending it back out, it is up against the hoses right now. Ain't no plastic protector going to work under those conditions.

 

The Utah skid plate has wings built in that help on the sides. Here are a couple of pics of mine.
