I've never seen a tick, but I do know someone who was a little girl and got really sick from one and she's still not doing that good... I hope I never see one.

Yup , I'm in an orange zone on that map, and have a couple rides planned in Wisconsin, which is almost all red zone!
My buddy at work told me today that I must be a "tick magnet" . Here all these years I thought people were calling me a "chick magnet". It does explain the lack of hot women throwing themselves at me though.

Last fall I ran into something called turkey mites, they are a tick larve. They hang out on the upper part of plants waiting for you to brush against it and they hop on. I'm told they are visable with the naked eye but I never saw the critters only suffered their existance on my body as they move about and bite in bad places and they itch until you have no skin left in the affected areas. At first it was thought I had scabies as they were that bad. Happened to me in early fall and I'm told a deet spray would make me less attractive to them. all I can say is watch out.
