Wanted: Front and rear rotors for '09 KLX250s
#5
I am runing KLX300 rotors front and rear. The fronts are identical diameter, but I don't know if it was a bolt on since it was there to start. It fits, but possibly the holes may have needed drilled out. I think I did have to drill the rear for larger bolts when I bolted on the 300 rear rotor. Key is you need to get the KLX300 or 06-08 KLX250 rear caliper carrier, because the rear rotor is smaller than the 09 and up rotors. I don't care that it is smaller since on the road it is mainly front rotor and off road I prefer a bit less brake power to avoid lock up. You can get KLX300 rotors on the cheap all the time. There are new chinese parts as well as a bunch of used stuff.
Here is a front and rear rotor for $25 plus a caliper and carrier for $35. If you do the rotors I'd contact the seller and make sure they guarantee them to be flat. Other than that, it's hard to beat. Both rotors and carrier for about $55, sell the caliper off for whatever you can get for it.

Yep, big bucks for the larger rotor since it isn't that common. It would be easier to stay with the smaller rotor since it is so common and cheap and uses the same mount bracket unless you are starting with the SF model.
