For more top end you would go down in the rear or up in the front. The supermoto version uses a 39T in the rear, but its only spinning 17's. If you go up to a 15T in the front you may not like the results, and it will be horrible off road. Honda XR650L any year is what you'll need. You won't need a new chain, but it will be at it's limits.

Wow bro, 85mph on these bike is pretty high. These bikes aren't to 'comfy' at high speeds. My bike is stock and I stay in the right lane and cruise fairly well at 70mph and that's in a 65mph zone. Anything over 72-74mph make me 'white nuckle'.

GULP!!! i white knuckle at 60mph! 'Course i am a highway noob. Even tho i put over 5000 miles since last aug. not many were on the highway. My goal for this summer is to hit 65 and be relaxed. HA! right after i accomplish petting a wild bear and being relaxed.

I hear you guys, but honestly I feel very comfortable at these sppeds on my bike. It runs very well in the 70 to 80 MPH range and the I-15 gets some good wind gusts, but you just stay attentive. My 25 minute ride to work every day gets me started off pretty good. I think with street tires and a little more kick for lane changing, and what not, it would only improve the safety of riding at this speed and in these conditions. I think I might consider changing out the rear sprocket and see where that gets me. That along with some street tires shoudl do the trick for alittle more kick. I run the bike in the 7 to 8 RPM's and it does fine. With the biggun exhaust it is loud so no I-pod while I ride but I wold like to see if I can get similar results with a little less RPM. It has 2100 miles and I have changed the oil about 7 times so it stays clean, but the oil is never very dirty when I drain it, so I can't be doing damage to this bike by running it consistently so high, but maybe some of you would disagree. Either way, any other ideas?
