Vote for a new sticky
I know all good post that get stuck to the top of a forum were not created intentionally, but... can someone start an EFI mod sticky? Mods and EJK settings or mods and power commander map. I know there was a lot of work back in the carb days changing jets and inspecting plugs, but as you all know those days are over. I believe KLXter has said it once or twice, the KLX just doesn't argue much about fueling. Just figure something like that would be a good central source to collect that info. Of course anyone that actually pulls a dyno could post their afr charts with their setup.
This all comes to mind as I expect delivery of my EJK. I dont have an aftermarket exhaust, but I've been running lidless. I've also done the mcm, deleted o2, and pair valve block off. I figure i should be running somewhere between EJK's stock and lidless stage 1 suggestions, but a place to record our results would be good with specific setups. To answer anyone's question on lidless vs no snorkel vs stock lid, with the desmog and mcm, my butt tells me lidless is a noticable difference between the options, even without exhaust or an ejk. Might be running lean, but my fan only kicks on when stopping/sitting a lot and crawling on trails with stopping thrown in.

As for the fan - that may be totally normal. I'd be more concerned if my fan didn't come on when in really slow riding or when stopped. After all, it takes air flow to cool the radiators and low or no speed doesn't fill the bill. My 650 only kicks in when in really tight stuff or stopped. Runs for a minute or two until I either get going again or the temp is low enough. I don't remember if the one on my 250 has ever kicked on. Not really gotten into situations where it might.
