how about you pull that stick outta your *** and calm down. he was just making a general statement on how the versys is doing over there. there's no need to pull an ig and jump all over him.

I didn't 'jump' on anybody and I'm perfectly calm, thankyou. If I was interpreted differently than intended, let those I was addressing answer for themself, partner.

Doh! You got me. Yeah, I can definitely buy the part about the tank sloshing its load around when less than full. I read somewhere that people were using some type of specilized foam to cancel that out on bikes with larger sized tanks. I think the Versys carries around 5 gallons, doesn't it?

I'm looking to sell my Tiger 1050, as a matter of interest. What I like, I really like. But, it has some issues...Also, the Versys is a parallel twin, not a V-twin. I don'tthink it's top-heavy, but you can feel some movement at a stop w/a full tank of gas. It'll sway side-to-side a bit. Wierd feeling...

It is 5 gals. It'll get you 60+ mpg, if you ride it easy. My wife and I average about 50-57, depending on who's riding it most, and how. Still very good economy. Very cool bike. I think one for me and a new '08 CBR1000RR, and I'm going to try to settle down on bikes for a while. A cool, performancebike, and a practical, economical, balancedbike. Yeh, that oughtta' work for a bit.

Hehe! My wife would nag me day and night if I had two bikes. My guess is you will spend the most time on the Versys. I really like Honda sport bikes. My first liter bike was a CBR1100XX blackbird. In retrospect, it was a little porky, soI would have preferred something like the 1000RR...or what was the 954RR at that time.

I you're in themarket for a liter bike, you might also want to take a long look at the new ZX10R. By most reviews it's a pretty tight machine....all race bred parts to boot.

The ZX10 was definitely in the running. I test rode one of them, and a Connie14. The 10 isjust ugly, and it didn't have the low-mid I want for the road. The RR is also more comfy. Now, for a track bike, I'd really be calling it close between the two.

I'll definitely spend more time on the V. My wife already has one, and it's a great ride. I've had the hot bikes before. I tried to stop and slow it down, but I just miss 'em. I'm trying to sell my Tiger 1050 and 990 Super Duke to move on. Great bikes, I just miss the litre bikes. Besides, the Jap bikes are so much easier to live w/. Not to mention a better value.

I see. Yeah, that Connie is a slick machine. My dealer has sold 4 of them already...they are called the '1400GTR' here inJapan. If I were to move back stateside, retire and do nothing but cross country touring, that bike would be on the short list along with the ST1300 and possibley an FZR. Gold Wings are just overkill.

Agreed. Sold my '05 FJR because of engine heat. I hear of the same problems w/the C14. That's the main reason I don't have one. I was hot for one when they were announced. Out of interest, they say the ST13 has the same problems. Big engines wrapped in plastic, I reckon...
