Upon further review (spark plug)
So I put in the new plug today, and after further review, the old one doesn't look that rich at all. I think the last time it looked so bad because I had just flooded the bike. I made extra sure to wipe away any dust and blow away dirt with canned air before I pulled the old one and swapped them out. I rode around today with the lid off, it was surging a bit, probably too lean. So the lid is going back on tomorrow.
I've got the Pro-Taper bars mounted up and most of the controls are back together. The clutch cable BARELY reaches.... I've got the lever in pretty far, too. But other than some small glitches, it is going well. I'm kinda worried about the handguards, though. RMATV was out of their Tusk big-bar adapters so I ordered the equivalent from MCSS, and they're a bit different than my dad's Tusk ones... we'll see how things go Wednesday because I have to work tomorrow evening.
Also put in the Twin Air filter.
