Mine were a bear to install as well. Fortunately I got the plain ones so the tweaks didn't alter the "finish".

I have Emperor Racing (formerly Scorpion) Rad Guards and found them to be well finished and very strong. Kawasaki KLX250 Radiator Guard | Emperor Racing

I'll second rgmr250's comment and add that they were an easy install.
Very strong might be an understatement...100's of crashes and only one (on ice) bent anything, and that was just the support bracket. My rads are like new.
