To add to the list - when I installed my vapor thermo sensor the other day, I drained my coolant. I noticed that there were black and gray specs/slivers of stuff in the coolant. I did a few drain and fills with just distilled water but unfortunately it did nothing at all. I checked today after just replacing the coolant and the specs/slivers are back.

On the plus side, my bike runs very cool. Cruising on the road it won't ever reach temperatures over 160 degrees fahrenheit. When I am sitting idling, unless I let it idle there for more than 10 minutes, it won't even come close to anything over 200 degrees. It has grazed 215 while I purposely let it sit and idle for as long as I could to make sure that the fan was working correctly.

I like Honda's coolant because it doesn't have any silicon/silicates in it.

Didn't you have to replace your steering bearings...or just lube them up?

My DRZ cooks your legs off when you idle in traffic Haha.

The KLX ran really cool... probably something to do with engine size.

9,000+ miles and i've never washed the klx...the most i've done has been lube the chain...i'll spray lube on the front sprocket to get the crud off with a toothbrush or take it off....i'll sometimes wipe the plastic with a wet paper towel...that's about it...
