Two Brothers Question...

RE: Two Brothers Question...
Being new and such I mean no disrespect, but the whole theory on "order the jets you need and be done with it" just doesnt do it sometimes. Yes you may get the extra jets with the DJ kit, but isnt that better than ordering one jet, waiting for it, pulling everything apart only to discover that your too lean or rich? Then what, wait longer for the other jet you THINK will work? or order 2 and have one sitting around, just like you would the DJ kit. And to be honest is the 20-30 dollars that big of a deal if you know your going to have ALL you need? If it is perhaps its time to cut back to 1 pack of smokes a day instead of 2, or a 40oz of beer instead of 3 pints at 5 or 6 bucks each.
Not knocking the original parts, I would have liked to have just ordered what I need and be done with it, but I couldnt quite find the information to make me confident on what i EXACTLY needed. Also keep in mind no two bikes are the same and not only elevation, but air temperature will also play a part in your fine tuning. Me being where I am, information was hard to come by, and I wouldnt imagine hawaii would be much easier.
Just my logic for not getting original parts. It was the best way for me to go.
Cheers.

RE: Two Brothers Question...
why buy one at a time or a ton at a time. most of the time you can ballpark main jets, that's really the only you need to worry about. the pilot will suffice most everyone anywhere. you don't have to get the main spot on, thats impossible. find your elevation, find others at your altitude who bought jets (there's a sticky for this I think, although I never participated in it) and then buy 2 or 3 around that size, one up and one down. you can play around with your needle clip position for tuning and the a/f screw as well. I'm just trying to help you out. money isn't the factor here, it's the oddball dynojet sizes that only around 1 or 2 people have worked with. do what you want.

RE: Two Brothers Question...
Does that mean I have the oddball sizes? I really don't know anything about jets, all I know is that my mechanic set up my bike with the 132 and 40 jets and told me to find a place for the air box lid somewhere on a shelf in my garage. The more I think about it, he probably took one look at me when I brought the bike in for the work and said to himself, "I better max out the jets or the bike will not carry this large dude".[8D] And he was right, even at my weight, I have never been disappointed in the kick of this machine.

RE: Two Brothers Question...
Myself I'm always thinking "what if i did this..." ie: would a bigger jet be better or worse. Right now I got the bike running great, so I probably dont need to change it. but since i havent tried the other jets, (pilot included, i have a 40 sitting around and its probably too rich for where i am, but again what if) so eventually i'm sure i'll adventure into different jet sizes because i've got em.

RE: Two Brothers Question...
So I know I've read this somewhere else on here, but I got my TBR pipe in today and guess what- no "X" ring. WTF?!?!?! I know someone said they had another one, because TBR screwed up on them too and then they got shipped twice. If you're out there, still got it, and any interest in shipping it next day. I have shipping accounts and I know TBR won't be able to get it to me. Trying to ride the new pipe this weekend.
Otherwise the pipe looks great. Although it's sitting on the stand with the side panel off, just waiting. (I already took of the stock)

RE: Two Brothers Question...
Got the dreaded "X-ring". Pipe sounds unreal! Haven't put in the quiet tip yet, might not if the neighbors don't complain. Definetly makes the bike sound more like a true dirt bike.
