Default Two Brothers Question...

So I now TB has all kinds of posts all over this thing but none of them quite answer my question.

I ride at sea level to 2,000ft, I weigh 200lbs and ride a good bit of trails on the bike. The last time I rode the damn fan kept coming on and the bike smelled like it wanted to burn anything it came in contact with. I believe there's in Catalytic Converter in the stock pipe, so I want to bail the thing. I really like the look of the TBR and am pretty much set on getting it, just wondering if it will help the bike run any cooler and do I HAVE to re-jet. Kinda want to wait on that if I can. Also do I need to change the stock air filter if I remove the snorkel, I've seen a lot of post saying to remove the thing with after market pipe. Kinda lost with all the stuff to do after I get the pipe, any input would help.

if you get the tb i wouldnt say that u absolutley had to rejet as i ran mine like that for about 3 months and then rejetted but i can tell u that opening the exhaust up like that without adding fuel will make the bike run lean, as far as long term damage if any that may occur, i cannot comment but my bike runs great with the tb and rejetted with no airbox lid, stock filter. the pipe adds power for sure but the combo of the two definitely complement each other. my 2 cents. and just dont be scared about yanking that carb out, youll get it back in. aloha.

So if I hook up the pipe and don't re-jet for a minute it won't kill the bike. That's what I wanted to know. Would you suggest running it without the snorkel straight away or wait till the Re-jet? Also, does the bike run cooler now, or is this just a four stroke thing, running at this temp. I've only had two strokes and they never got this hot!

P.S. What jet kit and which version did you use, most dealers don't list the KLX on the fit list.

i didnt notice my klx running any cooler after putting onthe two brothers pipe. though a couple years ago i put one on my suzuki dr650 and it made abig difference. i weigh in at 175 andrun at 700-800' in iowa and 5000-8000' in colorado. i do not rejet b4 heading west so i jetted on the conservative side.

Word. Although I cant help you with what jet to run at 250cc. At 300cc just follow the instructions. Ive had both the NT1c & the DJ needle. The DJ rocks & is worth the price of admission.
