I don't know about fitting a cat through there, but I did learn in a hydraulics class that a coyote will fit through a one-inch nozzle. What comes out on the other side is not pretty.

speaking of oil filters...i misplaced my socket for the drain plug...somebody know what size socket i need?...i need to go buy a new one...

I just went and checked, and it's a 14mm.
