i called this morn, they called me back later... there is no recall at this time for the rear rack. that said if any1 has this problem im sure that it would be no issue getting it repaired/replaced under the warranty.

Yes the weld needed to be on both sides of the mount Me and my friend just bought our bikes and I am going to weld them up and I think the rack might look nice painyed Gloss Black .... I would get it powder coated but that seems a little much for just one pc.......

After reading all the posts on this forum I checked the weld on my signals. Who ever welded mine seemed to do a good job. I grabed the turn signals and tried to stress the medal to see if the paint would chip off the welds and it did not. I have to make sure they are not going to fall off because I am going to teach my wife and son how to ride using this bike.

Duct Tape . . . .

Half the problems can be fixed by using duct tape. The rest with WD-40!

I duct taped the turnsignal and rode the bike to my dealer. He welded the bracket back on. He said the original weld was missing spots that is why it broke off and fell off. He even re-welded the side that didn't fall off because he said the original weld was pretty bad and it looked like this side would eventually fall off too. He then sprayed the rack back to it's original silver color. All this while I waited and no appointment. The service at this dealership(RER Motorcity in Monroe, CT) has been phenomenal. He ordered a new rack for me(which is on backorder).

I guess Kawi buys these racks from other vendors and obviously this company does shoddy work. [&:]
