I recall this too. Also, I don't recall anyone saying the TPS makes any difference connected or not.

I confirm what Wildcard said: the TPS does not have any effect on the 06/07 cdi. This is a result on a test bench, and also from a real bike, whereby disconnecting it did not change the engine behavior at all.

Thanks for the replies. I'm now running without the TPS on the new carb and no issues.
