Default TPS or not to TPS?

So the new carb I got is from a 09 and mine is an 07. My 07 has a TPS installed and the 09 does have it. Would there be a problem not running it? Also the 07 does have the idle adjustment extension, just an inconvenience.

No problem but confusing. I thought maybe you were still drunk from last night.

You'd need to know if the TPS dealt with timing. I think anyone who has gone to a TM36-68 would be able to tell us if this is an issue since the TM doesn't use a TPS either. Does it screw with timing if disconnected?

My real question is there are two virtually identical carbs laying there, why the change? Is the older body broken? If not, why not replace whatever needs replaced in the older body since there would be no gain otherwise? That's like swapping the same carbs, why bother. Wondering out loud.

I went ahead and installed the 09 carb and left the TPS off. Seems to run fine, actually better than fine because the new carb came with a dynojet kit. I'm running DJ132, needle on 3 and a 40 pilot with the screw turned in. With the bike running I did connect the TPS sensor and turn it full open and closed and nothing noticeable. Maybe I'll put a timing light on it to verify.

Someone here (raycour?) put an 06/07 ICU on a test bench once to see how the TPS interfaced but didnt see any result. Seems like kawi intended to do something with thier KTRIC system in the klx but may have decided to abandon it for whatever reason but the parts still made it into the final design without being implemented ?

Amazing, considering that the TPS is available for purchase for $378 bucks! Imagine the person who bought it because his was defective then found out it really doesn't do anything.
