Default touring on a 250

On the july 1st long weekend myself and 10 buddies from the island headed up the sea to sky hiway up to lytton where a large duelsport rally was being held. The Deadzone. It was awesome.
the klx performed flawlessly everybody on the ride up there were on KLR650's or DR650's.
even with the bike loaded down it managed 120-140kmh even on some long uphill runs on the highway.
the only complaint i have about the bike is the seat.after 1500km in 3 days my **** was rather sore.thank god for the sheepskin.

Speed2101 must be from Vancouver BC area... Sea to sky highway goes from Vancouver to Whistler BC, and then up to Lillooet and on to Lytton (actually that's a pretty round-about way of getting to Lytton...).

I love that bike man! I want one of those sheepskins! Where did you get it?

My bike will look similar very soon. I have the acerbis tank and green bark busters too.

That would have been a great ride!

What mods have you got on your bike to be able to get 140km/h with all that gear on?

My bike with the 300cc kit, dynojet, exhaust, all free mods and with 14/45 gearing is flat out at about 139km/h (if the speedo is right) doing about 9000rpm from memory. Not on redline, just no more power. That's with me sitting pretty upright though, could go a little quicker if I bent over, but would need a fair amount of road.

Yes I am from Vancouver island crofton to be exact.
the sheepskin i've had for 10 years or more.it's been on a klr650.zx11,800 maurader and now the KLX.so I have no idea where to find another on right now.
the luggage are Givi voyager soft luggage.

Ive done all the usual mods
muzzy exhaust.
128 main jet.
2 1/2 turns out on the air mixture screw.
airbox lid removed.
crankcase vent drilled out.
carb slid drilled out.
renthal bars.
acerbis bark busters.
heated grips.
13 tooth counter shaft sprocket.14 tooth was put back on for the trip.
rear signals replaced.
acerbis fuel tank.
skid plate.
a spitfire windshield for the highway.it really helped break the wind.
just not the 300 kit.thats next year.I do probably run the little beast harder than most.the 140 was usually 5th gear almost to redline then into 6th.on the hills it was a lot of shifting to keep the revs up.
the bike is jetted for sea level and we ended up playing around 4-6 thousand feet above sea level.what a difference altitude makes.headed up the bike could not hold 6th gear on many hills on the ride home back on the island you could easily pick up speed on most hills.
