Default tough decisions

Hey guys, this is tough and I am doing it with a lump in my throat. I have decided to sell some of my bikes. Havnt had any new work come in for 3 months and I'm looking around at what can go. I know I could sell my BMW ( cage, E46) easy but I need to project a reasonable image for my work. So I figure gulp, its one of the XRs ( they are not worth much) or the KLX.
I can do sell on behalf at the local dirtbike shop, my son Jon is doing pre-apprenticeship training there and the owner is a cool guy.
Thoughts?

I wish you the best with whatever choice you make. I don't know what your cash needs are so, keep in mind what selling your motorcycles will do for you. If it buys you a couple of months reprieve from an economic slowdown it may worth it to you. However, if you're going through a long drought in good employment you may need to consider other options. Without knowing how you make your living and what sort of monthly income you need to break even it's hard to know if selling your motorcycles helps a lot, just enough, or is just a last gasp before a major life change.

Best Wishes with whatever life throws your way!

Tough decision... I'd sell the bike you can get the most money for without jeaprodizing your work. Image not withstanding, I'd part with the BMW. Good luck.

Yeah thanks guys. I am an Architect and yes effectively the bike money would just be a hold to keep my office running for 3 months in terms of my outgoings. I do have work in the pipeline and on the boards but the building slowdown is noticeable here.
Beleive me I enjoy getting out on the KLX and thats why even considering selling it is a downer for me.
Might just hunker down and go to work for a company yet

Move Oz and get out of that crappy economy you have.

Then you can keep all your bikes.

Good luck what ever you do.

Hey Lee, a lot of us are right there with ya. You do whatever you need to do to keep things going. You see there are thousands of bikes out there that can be bought later when things pick back up.

Just tonight my wife and I got into an argument about decisions. See my mom came into some money and wanted to do something for me after all these years of me helping her. She wanted to pay off my truck, which I owe about $4500.00 on a 7% loan. I have 12 payments left. I opted to have her pay off my $4000.00 credit card (the only one I have......had, at 30%. Yea I was late on one payment and they bumped it from 11 to 30%, My decision was to pay off the high interest credit card and to close the account which I did.

But its been hard trying to convince my wife of that since all she saw was the potential of an extra $400.00 a month to spend on other stuff. But I told her that the credit card would have taken 5 years to pay off with the minimum sent in. I think I made the right choice, and in a year she will see it too.

Good luck man, you'll know what to do soon enough.

Thanks deej. Today, I just found out that I will be getting another 3k in a couple of weeks because a client has stepped a project forward. So its a bit simpler, For Sale, 2000 XR200, alloy swingarm & triple clamps, CRF250 shock, fully suspension tricked for enduro, 40mm extender kit in forks. (I have a pair of them)
The KLX stays! for now anyway.
thanks guys for your thoughts and messages.
