Top Speeds?

If your front wheel gets bigger, your speedo will slow down... Or rather than saying your doing 110, it will now say you're doing 105 at that same exact speed.
If you go with a combination with a smaller than stock diameter, your speedo will say your going even faster than you actually are... Or make the problem with most bike speedo's worse.

With GPS running on my 07 with FMF powerbomb/Q4 muffler, 128 jet, no lid, 13t front sprocket - on level ground top speed is about 75.
I'm going to put the stock sprocket back on and see what that does.
And the speedo reads about 87 so it's way off.

I hit 86 on the speedo in a full tuck. bike is all stock except for the 13t cs. The best part is I was just keeping up with traffic at that speed. When I leaned back the bike droped back down to 74. The normal top speed for a Klx 250 running a 240 lbs rider such as myself. I bet Deej can back me up on this one.

I need some help guyz, I have a 01KLX300R that I made sreet legal. I was doing 65 the other day and the bike was pegged out, I'm running stock 15/50 sprockets what should i change to so I can get the bike above 70mph and not feel like I'm gonna burn the engine up, any help would be great. Thanks

Speeds...
50-60mph handling's great and all is well.
60-67mph Handling's good but the bike has my serious and undivided attention.
At 70mph I'm 'white knuckling'.
70mph would be fine but it all depends on what road you are riding on. These bikes are terribley succepitble to turbulence from other vehicles on the road. Trucks, SUV's, and tractor trailors are the worst vehicles to be behind. Being behind a tractor trailor is fine until it's about 8 car lengths ahead of you. That's when the turbulence from the vehicle really starts kicking your ****. I'm shocked that any of you can handle this bike at 80-90mph.

The 09 doesn't have a problem w/ the speed wobbles for us. At least my wife all 118 lbs. of her hasn 't complained of any yet. Ask about the time on the xl250r tho...
Hasn't stopped me from looking for a scotts stabilizer for the klx, you never know when some gnarly cross grain is going to hit.
