Top box brackets

Top box brackets
So some of you will have seen my top box that I bought for my postie bike
The brackets were not the best fit, I mean they were sorta ok I rode it for a week and it didn't fall off or anything but I wasn't happy with the fit. Seems I didn't take a pic of the original brackets so I made one up
I modified all 4 to this shape
which worked well on the rear mounts but not as good on the front mounts. Again they probably would have done the job but I wasn't satisfied, so I made a template out of a computer back plate. Photo shows a standard back plate and the template I made.
I was going to try to bend the original brackets to match the template but I realised the metal was too thick to bend it that sharply so I thought maybe the back plates would do the job. They are a bit light but all they have to do is hold the front of the top box down on the rack maybe if I don't overtighen the nuts (they are nylocks so they wont come loose) they would do the job.
I found some stainless steel back plates so I made them up into the right shape, drilled the holes and trimmed them to length with the trusty Dremel.
Finished product
Quality may not be perfect but hopefully they will do the job. If not I was thinking I will make 2 more and double them up.
