i've taken too many stones off my face mask even going 30mph to risk an open helmet commuting

They make a helmet now that has a full face shield and an mx visor. The face shield fits perfectly under the visor when you don't need it, and I belive goggles fit under the face shield when its down.

Its the, Shoei Hornet DS. Dirtbike mag had a product test in the Aug. 08' issue. Looks like a pretty sweet helmet and would be perfect for dual sporting.
i like that - i'd where it on my 6r, too mad its a 400$ helmet

Great idea being able to close the shutter on the nosepiece AND being able to remove it to clean out the dirt. . . $494 to $522 including tax here in WA. Yeah. . . . too MAD it's a $400 helmet!

That is a damn nice helmet. I was just thinking how with it getting colder here, the wind on the face during the morning commute is...invigorating. When it gets to be a $450 problem, I will reconsider.

Yeah, but take the price of a good offroad helmet and a good full face and your there on the price of the Shoei.

I'll agree that $500 is a little steep for a lid, but if it would save you a trip to the doctor at least one time the $500 pays for its self.
