Hmmm what did it look like originally? vfr how did you go about modding it? I guess i'll just have to wait until i get my hands on it and then use my fabrication skills to mod it. kinda hard without something solid in your hands.

My mod is almost identical to Dan's. I used a longer screw and taller spacer then loctited the screw. Originally it looked just like Dan's picture only it was half the distance or more closer to the tank.
Nice job Dan, great minds think alike

is there threading where the screwgoes i assume? i'm hoping i'll have the right kind of screw. As you can tell, i'm right stoked for this install. I havent even got to ride my bike since i put the new cyclops light, new bars, vortex throttle and the rad guards on. [&o]

Yes, there is a threaded brass fitting molded into the plastic on the top of the tank. It is a metric thread (I think that it a 6.0 x 1.0 thread, but not 100% sure, I can measure it later). Just go to the hardware store and get an assortment. My local Lowe's carries a nice selection of metric hardware. That's where I got the sleeve too.

i've had the green clarke tank on since right after new years. sorry no pictures up. no leaks from the fittings on the bottom of the tank. i did lose an entire tank of fuel right after install from a broken fuel line. i just went ahead and replaced both from small lengths from the two fuel tank vents that get removed from the stock metal tank. i coulndn't get the bike started right after install. finally traced it to my idle being nearly off. i must've disturbed it while working near there. seat is a mother something to install now. i will try the above mod next time i remove the seat for anything. i didn't use it but after my install i did find some fuel/gas line approved teflon tape at the orange color hardware store. mine hasn't leaked, so i'm not gonna mess with it. i've added more than thirty miles to my range and am very pleased. i'm also getting used to seeing the exposed tabs.
