TM36-68 Idle Adjuster - Pics Please
So I just aquired a TM36-68 that was formerly on a Yamaha Warrior ATV. Now that I have it in my hands, I see that it uses an idle adjuster screw up above the bellcrank - rather than down on the left side of the carb like the carbs you all have. The provisions are there for the side mounted adjuster - just no adjuster.
You can see the top mounted idle adjuster just behind the bellcrank.
Well, there's no way I'll be able to access that top mount adjustment point. Even if I could get at it, it will likely be in the way of the tank. So I need to get a side mount adjuster. But if I can make one, I'll do that rather than order a new one. That's where you all come in...
Would someone please remove your idle adjuster and take some close up pics of the portion that threads into the carb? And if you're feeling really ambitious, maybe even take some rough measurements. I'm curious as to whether it has some specially machined tip, or if it is straight threaded all the way to the end.
Thanks in advance!

Nope, no plug in the hole...I'm thinking the previous owner was likely sucking dust though there, and I wouldn't be surprised to find this big vacuum leak to cause a tuning problem.
I looked closer this morning. The thread pitch of this screw is much finer than a "standard" metric machine screw. The top mount adjuster screw has the same pitch, and the CVK idle adjuster looks to have the same ptich as well. The threaded length of the CVK adjuster might also be just about the right length...it might get pirated off of there when I get to doing the swap.

Sorry, I cold not get it out. I took the exhaust cam out to turn the compression release back to where it was originally. After that while I had the plastic off, I tried to take the idle speed screw out. It hits the voltage regulator as you can see in the picture. We tried to twist the carb and tug a little. The screw is long and I would have to taken the carb OFF to get that silly screw out. I can tell you it is long and has lots of threads.
Sorry I could not help you more.
