Default TM33 and black spark plug

Hi,

I've had Bills TM33/34 installed for a few weeks, all been running well. But ive noticed since the change my spark plug has been going very black, one died on me the other day.

I replaced the plug and went for a ride, below is the image of the new plug after 1 ride. It shouldn't be this dark should it?
Can anyone suggest any ideas of what the cause might be?

The porcelan circle in the first pic is what you read if I;m not mistaken.

I don't know how hard you rode it, if you went up a slight incline and peaked out 4 or 5th gear and shut it off immediately. And pulled out the plug.

But if the center part is white its lean, tan is optimum, black is rich. If it were mine I'd raise the clip one to lower the needle.

I'd like to know how far off base I am in this read as I am normally a 2 stroke rider. Can someone who knows better fill in?

RaceGass is corrrect, you read the porcelan.
Do you know what jets are in there and where the clip is on the needle?

Ride on

Thanks all for the replies, I'm not sure what size jet Bill put in it for me, or what notch the needle was on.
I only did a road ride for approx 40 mins, in two 20 min rides.
Mostly riding around 80KPH and rode for about 5-10 mins at 100KPH @ 7k rpm.

Cheers

for those of you who have ever looked at the back inside cover of a Chiltons manual, that there is a thats been exposed to a rich A/F. Funny, today I swapped mine for an Iridium. The stock I pulled out had a white electrode and soot all over the porcelain like yours, I was thinking of moving my clip too

Isn't there a fuel mixture screw where I can adjust this? If so where is it, and whats the best way to adjust it?

Thanks!
