Default TM 36-68 on stock KLX 250S

Hi. I'm a regular visitor of this website which I truely found
useful. I've just purchased a Mikuni TM 36-68 carb from a guy on this Forum. The carb is supposedly currently jetted with the stock
stuff minus the 15 Pilot. As some of you are already using that type of carby
on your KLX, could you tell me what approx carb settings I should look
for on my bike:

2007 KLX 250S
K&N air filter
KDX snork
all the rest powertrain-wise is plain-bone stock.

Thanks for taking time to reply to my querry. Cheers!

Do a search for it. There are plenty of posts on the subject. If your still stuck send me a PM and ill send you my jetting or give you some pointers (mines a 06 stock bore with TM36 but I have different mods). Would also need to know your elevation.

Also do a Google search for the Mikuni HSR-40 manual. It pretty much the same Carb and has good tuning information. just keep in mind that the HSR has a pilot air screw and the TM36 has a fuel screw so the screw settings are opposite for the TM36. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the answer. Elevation here is 220ft. Only mods are K&N air filter and KDX snorkel. Otherwise some of the free mods that should not have any incidence on engine performance. What's you current jetting on yours? What is the incidence of your mods to your jetting?

Merci,

F

Have a read of this thread..... https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...s-33010/page4/

My jetting is different now as this thread was written while i was learning.

I still recommend downloading the HSR manual.

And the link to the HS40

The best carb tuning manual I have ever read. Its a personal thing, your bike may run different on the exact same settings.

My jetting is different now. The last two tanks full of fuel netted 62 and 60 mpg. It runs great and I am not messing with it any more.

I had the cab off many times. You can turn the carb and change the main jet or needle jet with out pulling the bowl. You don't even have to remove it from the rubber ends.
