TM 36-68 with a stock bore?
#41
I have installed the Tm36-68 on my 2012 klx250s. I have a mix of this forums jetting choices and the results are very good. Some one on this forum said, "If I knew how much better this carb is I would have made it the first change I did to the bike. I agree. I'm having a problem. When I close the throttle completely (corner entry-hard braking) the slide closes down until it is contacting idle adjust rod. as it should. When I start to roll the throttle on (to exit corner) the slide is stuck. I actually have to give the throttle a little yank to get the slide moving. When I'm leaned over as far as I can going as fast as I can this makes the rear tire brake loose. This sucks. The bike is more forgiving than ANY bike I have ridden and it has not bitten me....yet. Anyone experienced this? It's probably vacuum. HELP! Thanks.

I think you'll find that most dealerships seldom carry many of the jets even for bikes that are currently sitting on their floor that have carbs. And in defense of those shops, they'd frankly have to invest quite a bit of money and space to do so. You have to order jets for tuning...usually. I've always ordered a few jets on either side of the stock setting for most of the bikes I've owned with carbs. The jets for my TM36 came from Tucker-Rocky...a big wholesale to dealers outfit...but you can get them from many outlets. Good luck on finding a common auto parts store that stocks anything like Keihin, Mikuni, or other carb jets.

Bringing back an old thread... I recently installed a TM36-68 on my '10 250s stockbore and holy crap what a difference. it was installed straight out the box and ran pretty descent. will be hooking up an AFR sensor and Datalogger to get an idea of what the fueling is like. just wondering if there was anyone else running this carb on their stockbore
