Default TM-33 or 36

HeyheyheyKids
TM-33/36
Worth the 350.00 price?
Ease of install, other parts required?
New air filter to match?

What's the skinny? Which one do I order?

Big bore or no big bore? If big bore, I recommend the TM36-68. If stock displacement, I recommend the TM33-8012 (modified by Bill Blue - bored to 34mm and custom flanges installed).

I think that the TM36 goes on easier than either the TM33 or stock CVK34 The TM36 needs a small mod if you have a Clarke tank.

If getting either the TM33 or TM36, be prepared to rejet. Dependent upon your displacement, exhaust, intake and altitude, you'll probably need different jetting for either carb.

Someone has put a TM36 on a stock displacement bike, I have no experience here. Personally, I think that it might be a bit too much carb for the 249cc

Air filter, up to you. not necessary, but I recommend a higher flowing air filter. Along that lines, a higher flowing exhaust too, if you don't all ready have it.

Pretty much what Dan said. I think you can get a tm36-68 for $275 if you look around.

I went with the tm36-68. Got mind at www.motorcyclecarbs.comcontact was Robert. He pre jetted it for my 250 and giving me extra jetting for the big bore in the furture. I'm not buying two carbs. If it has problems at wide open I'll adjust it as needed. A small price for now. Beside I need a better carb. The big bore isnext years winter project. I've only got 4000 km on it so far so I don't want to crack it open yet. Buying the carb maybe the extraI need to get it done before. Not like I've got to be talk into it. Just having figure out how far to go with the motor yet. So I'm going to play with bolt-ons for now.

Thanks for the replies.
Robert at motorcyclecarbs.com says...

"TM33 for a stock motor. Will need to rejet it and make an adapter sleeve. Budget around 400$ and some pennies."I'v asked him what the performance improovments will be. And I'll post his reply. My bike runs well except for the hard starts if I don't drain the float bowl. She'll go well over 100 mph.So I don't want to modify the engine. I justwant quicker accelleration.I used the "motomanusa" method to set the rings. And from what Ive heard from other 2007 owners the 100 mph plus top speed is above average. And I had some throttle left.Let me know if you have PROOVEN performance boosters. And I'm curious ... How fast will your 250 go ? Thanks agian Marc

If you want quicker acceleration than change your gearing. If you want instant throttle response than get a pumper carb.

How is that working for ya? I want to go the same way, as I'm not sure if I even will go as far as a big bore. I think if it actually got to that point, i'd be going orange.

Heyheyheykids...
Robert at motorcyclecarbs.com says

And he says " expect a 30% performance boost."

Unfortunately, performance wise I want it all!
greater top end speed, quicker accelleration, and you guessed it, easey to install and no fiddling that requires multiple adjust and install cycles.

I'm handy but my sweetheart hates having the bike in the livingroom while I work on it.And starting it is outa the question.(We are a 1 bedroom 16th floor apartment people.)

More feed back from stock or near stock riders that have ANY mods that will set me up w/the above three wants are greatly apreciated.

In case anyone is interested, I have thought about selling my extra carb. It isa FCR 35, like No Brakes had, set up by Jerry Leighton with Four Stroke Works. Many of you already know that this carb sells for $600.00 new. My carb has less than 200 miles. If anyone would like to have it, I will sell it for $350.00 plus actual shipping cost.
