Default Tires

Hey guys, I am thinking of ordering new tires so I have them when it comes time to change them out. I have 600 miles on the bike, and the tires are about half worn. I am thinking about the Dunlop 606's since that is the closest to the stock 603's that I can find. It's funny I do 80% of my riding on the blacktop, and yet I really like the 80-20 tires (80% off road, and 20% road use). I am hoping that the 606 tires are a little harder rubber. So what are you're thoughts on the tire choices out there.

The bike seems to handle fine with the stock tires on pavement, but I'd like something with a little more grip in slippery heavy clay mud and wet leaves. The stock tires seem best for harder surfaces.

I'm leaning towards trying the Michelin AC10 dual sport tires.

Those look good. I'm torn between those and the 606s...

I don't know the Kenda tires look like they would really wear fast on the pavment. I think I'm gonna go with the 606 tires.

I put the trackmaster 2 on my bike. The tire is very aggressive. It looks and acts like a full-blown knobby. I have about 400 miles on it now. I would say the the first 200 hundred miles it was very squirmy on the the street. It is much better now. It works awesome in the terrain that I ride in - sand/dirt. As I wear the corners off the *****, the better it is getting on the street. You won't believe how you can slide around a corner on the street with this tire. I was disapointed with it at first on the street cause the stock tire worked so good. The wear on the tire hasn't effected off-road performance at all. The tire should make it another 1000 miles easy. The tire is very noisy. It sounds like a monster truck tire going down the road. It goes down the highway just fine, it wanders a little more compared to stock. Over all I am very happy with the tire now.

dundual-D606-Rear Dunlop D606 Rear Dual Sport Tires 1 TIRE-SIZE: 120-90-18 $61.05
dundual-D606-Front Dunlop D606 Front Dual Sport Tires 1 TIRE-SIZE: 90-90-21 $59.50

Total: $120.55

Hey guys, I just copied and pasted this from a website. Are these the right sizes for our bike? Good price? I am having a hard time with the metric conversion chart. Also I would like to get a couple of tubes of each size, what would I look for in the tube size? I bought a moose tire changer and a set of bars a couple of months ago, and I just picked up another long bar, so I think I'm set for changing tires when the time comes.......now where did I put that instructional video? LOL Thanks

No... the correct sizes are 80/100-21 and 100/100-18. The ones you list might fit OK in the rim but i don't know if tere is enough clearance on the swingarm.

Im looking to buy tubes and tires too. What are the tube sizes?? Also the 606's don't seem to fit our bikes with the dimensions motoguy posted, so does this mean no 606's for us??

yeah... I was really looking forward to the D606 for my next tire. So the big question is well they fit or do I have to go looking for one that I like. I'm not sure if the Kenda is for me. I think that tire will ware out faster than the stock one. I want a tire that does really good and will last up to 1000 miles, any suggestions?
