In the states DOT certified tires are required, even for trail riding. Our NJ group ride was halted whena ranger checked all the bikes over for anything su****ious. Nate was sent back to the camp on his XR for non DOT tires.

Or better yet ..... how do they last on pavement. For a while I had a Pirellie super soft Front tire and it was awsome in the sand. Then one day when my truck broke I had to do a quick 90 mile trip on I-95 at 75 mph.........long story short that tire was done after that ride.
I have Perelli on the the rear and my experience has been the same. Off road it is an awesome tire but the very few pavement miles that I have put on it has wore it completely out.
I too am leaning towards the AC-10.

It sounds like the AC-10 is the best of all worlds.
[ul][*]Good asphalt tire life[*]Good asphalt traction for all road surfaces[*]Good off road traction too![/ul]Is the front tire a little skinner on these tires for a specific reason or, is it just that it isn't made in our size and width?

I couldn't find any other 21" size than the 80. Which I don't really like, I'd prefer a wider front tire for better flotation/greater contact patch.

On the subject of tires, what's the cheapest online store to get them at?

It looks like the Michelin AC-10 is a great match for the rear tire. What sort of mileage would I get out of it on all asphalt riding?

What front tire would be a good match for it if I didn't want the skinny AC-10?

I like http://www.RockyMountainAtv.com , they may not be the cheapest, but if you order $100 or over, you get free shipping which may make them the cheapest once you figure free shipping.

I love Rocky Mountain. Americanmototire may be cheaper on some tires but they nail you with $25-$30 for shipping.
