Timing Chain Guide ?
Hi, new to the forum.
Short history:
bought an06 250 a couple of months ago with 800 mile on it. Liked everything about the bike, but the lack of power. - go figure. Found lots of really good info on this forum and followed it. Changed jetting and did all the carb tricks, lost the emissions stuff, replaced the front sprocket with a 13T, drilled the exhaust.Better, - not what i was looking for - replaced the exhaust with a full muzzy, - better; but still not there. Sent my jug off to Bill Blue on Monday and am currently waiting for it and a new TM33 pumper to return.
Enough about that, here's my question to those of you that have had your head off before. How does the front (exhasut side) cam chain guide index in the motor. Seems to me I can stick it in two different ways and they both seem correct. One way it will stick up higher that the rear guide - I'm assuming this is wrong. The other seats it down further in the engine and the top seems to be about level with the rear guide.
I've searched this and other forums, found someone at another forum that asked the same exact question, but didn't see any resposes. Service manual seem to be little help as well.
Anyone know the correct way to install this guide?
