I'm taking one step at a time. Right now, just a upgrade on the carb and intake. And since I'm ordering from BikeBandit.com, I'm going ahead and ordering new tires too. Since this year, I'll be driving he heck out of he KLX for work, commute, and college.

If and when its time to do a 351cc upgrade, I will be ready with the Dynojet kit and upgraded intake. Or if I want to push the 250cc further, upgrade the exhuast to a Muzzy.

You can always get a set of these vents. That is if you can mange to get Dual-Star to pick up their phone. I just took a hole saw and went at my KDX airbox lid. Haven't done anything with the KLX yet other than the Twin Air filter.

Oh yeah... Here's a pic of the Twin-Air installed in the KLX and the part number. The KDX and KLX have the same air filter.

Okay, parts have been ordered. I should get the parts by Friday. I will be doing a write up on the re-jetting.

I got the DynoJet parts in today. And I was bored enough that I just went ahead and installed it. Took me about 2 hours to complete the job. I followed DynoJet's instrustion (well most of it), installed the 124 main jet, placed the e-clip on the thrid slot with 3 washers on top, and screwed out the idle screw 2 turns. I decided 2 turns was good enough and 3 turns would be a bit much. Put everything back together and took her for a spin. Throttle response is much crisper. Accleration is slightly improved. Overall top-speed is yet to be determined, but it seems 65mph is top at WOT in 6-gear (and that was on an incline). I also removed the snorkle (which is loud with out one). Kawasaki had a 118 main jet installed when I removed the old jet.

Settings:
DynoJet 2152
124 main jet
3rd notch on the needle with 3 washers on top
2 turns out on the idle screw

Learjet, when you get the money for the FMF you probably will have to rejet to the 128. I did mine all at one time and my acceleration was greatly improved. I have read on this post about people drilling out the stock muffler but I went with the FMF instead. You might want to try that if you don't mind tampering with the stock exhaust. You can put the fuel to it, but if it can't flow (stock muffler-high flow filter) it won't help as much. I think you will be surprised with the performance with the muffler upgrade.

Maybe later on, I'll put on a aftermarket pipe. But for now, the stock pipe works just fine. Then once I do, I will be pulling the carb off again to re-jet to a 128. If I were to do the next step, it would be a 351 kit.

Doesn't the KDX220 snorkle have a larger opening? I was planning on going that route if I ever spring for a new exhaust.
