For Those Unsure about the UNI Filter
I just took a short test spin with the UNI filter (KLX300 part number) which I oiled both stages with Maxima aerosol foam filter oil. When changing the filter I took the plug out and it was pretty well covered in carbon/soot so with the mods in my sig I'm running quite rich. The air screw is currently at 2.25 turns out just for reference. Anyway I took it for a ride and immediately noticed that the throttle response off idle was much better, no hesitation at all. On the road it pulled easily no matter what rpm I was at, even in 6th gear running at 30-35 under 4K it didn't chug or bog at all, smooth roll on of the throttle and it picked up speed no problem. On the trail first and second gear had great response. Second was pretty mild until the revs got up about 5500 but now didn't matter if I was just poking along or already up to speed, cracking the throttle and it instantly responded. First gear power wheelies were possible as well, well cracking the throttle and giving a jerk on the bars would get the front tire up over the puddles anyway, I'm not very good at riding them out.
Long story short, yes the UNI flows better than the stock filter. Does it protect better? I don't know. Am I concerned? No as I don't have anyone to trail ride with anyway so dust and dirt aren't a huge concern. I do ride with my brother occasionally but I generally lead as I know the trails and he's just starting out on the quad.

Listen to me, I won't ever steer you wrong. I'm glad you are reaping the rewards of the Uni. I immediately felt more low end power and revability when I put mine in. I just learned however that RC uses Twin Air filters. I considered them but went with the Uni. I doubt there's a real difference in the two. All the big 4 factory teams use Uni I believe.

"uni" and "twin" are damn near the same... when you oiled yours iowaguy did you take the unit apart? there is 2 foam pieces in the uni, dont know if you knew that... twin is just a brand name, they are the same damn thing... lol

LOL, just realized than UNI doesn't make much sense considering it has "2" foam filters in it, as does the Twin air. Just another random thought on a Saturday morning.
