Thinking about buying a KLX250S
#21
I have to agree, i ride a ZRX1200 on the street and a two stroke off road. I picked up the KLX for my wife. It's been fun modding the bike and it always puts a smile on my face tearing around town in hooligan mode. I used it in a dual sport ride this past fall because i never liked my KDX on the road sections and the KLX held its own with bigger bikes and tackled the hero sections with no drama. The only problem is getting the keys from the wife. For the money you can't go wrong.

I just bought my 09s a couple months ago as I had been looking for one for some time. Finally a stock one popped up on CL one night with a bit under 500 miles. I went and bought it the next day for 2800.
I havent had a dirt bike since the late nineties myself. This year I will be 48

I have to agree. The klx is my second street bike after a gsxr 750. Not even in the same class as fast but it brings me many more smiles and fun.

It was 14+ for me. Last bike was a Vulcan 750. I always kept the motorcycle endorsement for some reason.

I'm 43 and yea live in Sacramento. I love all the sport bike to dual-sport stories. You guys are getting me jacked! And I love the Pittsburg pic!
Honestly, my biggest obstacle is my wife. She doesn't want me to spend the money. I've been trying to sell my business and if I can find a buyer it's a done deal. Until then I've got to continue to soften her up to the idea. And if gas prices keep sky-rocketing it'll be an easier sale. I drive a RAM 1500 that eats through $80 a fill-up. Saving one week of gas would be like a monthly motorcycle payment.
Real quick question on helmets. Do most of you use dual-sport models?
