RE: tell all your friends
Say what you want, but those IMS pegs were great! I was skeptical at first and wouldn't have bought them had I not got a personal recommendation for them from Bad Bear for whom I have the highest respect. And he was absolutely right. It's not weight savings, they are off-road pegs and are wider and more grabby than the skinny stockers. BTW, the IMS aftermarket stainless pro pegs look almost identical to the stock pegs on my KTM. They are definitely worth the upgrade to move up on the KLX if you do much off-road.
IMS pegs on the KLX:
KTM stockers:
Compare those with your KLX stock pegs. The wider pegs feel much more stable when standing.

No, it had very little by way of protection, other than those plastic frame guards you see in the photo. Didn't even have a "glide" plate like the stock KLX does - engine was totally exposed on the bottom.
That plate is the KTM "Hard Parts" plate. It's great, I like it a lot.

I would like to get the wider pegs someday as I do a lot of riding standing up, and the narrow ones get sore on the bottom of my feet if I stand more that a mile or two. Oh and yes we DS riders sometimes stand while doing 60 down the highway. If you thought riding the klx on the road made people do a double take, try standing up while tooling down the highway.
Disclaimer: I'm not endorsing standing up while doing 60everyone has to do what feels comfortable.
