RE: tell all your friends
thx. yeah, each time I walk out and see it sitting there in all it's still brand new sweet bright blue metallic/yellow color scheme gloryI wonder what the hell I'm doing trying to sell it. then I think, nah, I'm gonna keep it. then I remember back to the days when I use to take my KLX from the road to off-road in seconds and then again in seconds I was riding wheelies legally and jumping stuff. then I go to the kawi site and drool over a bike I once had and had built to the hilt (sans engine mods)with perfectly tunedmods and the beauty of 18/21's. only drawback was lack of power, the DRZ has that one covered. it just needs the 18/21's. I should just bite the bullet.

What is to the "hilt"?
A pipe, a main jet, a rear sprocket, & a set of blinkers?

So basically the standard exhaust/rejet& a regear. Plus some poser points for blinkers & chopping off the rear fender.
Use your imaginatuion--bars, hand & foot controls, seat, tank, real susupension work, motor work, wheels/brakes, instrumentation etc.ala Nobrakes.

hand & foot controls- is this a Harley? what's wrong with the stock ones? are you RC? doubt it.
seat- was fine with me. they usually look terrible once someone starts jacking with the foam and trying to recover.
tank- again, fine with me. nobrakes had to modify immensely just to get his to fit and then imo, it looked really bad.
suspension- i weigh 150lbs or so, the stock stuff adjusted to my weight worked as well as a revalve for a heavier person.
motor- I said that I could go there, fwiw, I had in hand a 300 cylinder I acquired off ebay.
wheels- why? oem ones are good enough unless you're rock climbing, no one does that here. nobrakes didn't change his wheels to my knowledge.
instrumentatin- again, why? all I need is an odometer and speedometer, the tach is nice but unnecessary. my DRZ doesn't have one. I've got a Garmin I can take in my pocket if I venture that far away which is never.
brakes- why? you're not fast enough to warrant better brakes nor is anyone else on this forum.
so all your stuff adds up to a huge waste of money. the mods I did were the most cost-efficient ones for the KLX. some say that bypassing the big-bore kit and just adding a pumper carb is better. but sinking your money into footpegs, handlebars, susp. work for me is a waste. why wouldn't you buy a lighter kickstand if you're gonna replace pegs and wheels? you don't make sense and I think you just want to argue which is fine with me. I'll go all day if you want.
