Tagged in Texas and then transferred to another state...
Looking at ways to register/title/tag a bike in Georgia, where it's impossible to do with an "off-road-only" bike. My sources tell me that doing so in Texas is a lot easier. What if you got a bike registered/titled/tagged in Texas, and then transferred the paperwork ("sold" the bike) to Georgia so that you were "street-legal" in Georgia? Heck, I would even pay a hundred bucks to the Texas resident to make that happen.
Opinions?

So you wanna tag a bike titled in Georgia then to Texas?
To do that in Texas it has to be inspected in Texas with a green form then that needs to be presented at the Courthouse along with proof of insurance and TX drivers license. Also if it wasnt originally a street bike on the title there are other forms involved.
I think your SOL

No, JB1, get it "legal" in Texas and then transfer it to Georgia:
"What if you got a bike registered/titled/tagged in Texas, and then transferred the paperwork ("sold" the bike) to Georgia so that you were "street-legal" in Georgia? "
Looks like I won't be asking you to do that...

Ok, re-read my own post and realized it was not 100% clear.
I plan on buying a new bike directly from a dealer (via my "easy state" local dude) in the "easy" state (Texas, Tennesee), and then transferring it to myself in Georgia. The process would not start in Georgia, but end in Georgia.

Ha, yeah it's a mess
Bottom line is I'm trying to get an '07 WR250 tagged here in Georgia. Cannot do that here through the "regular channels", so I thought I'd try another route. So, a guy in Texas buys the bike under his name, titles/tags/ it there in Texas under his name and then sells it to me in Georgia. Everything gets transferred over to Georgia all nice and legal-like... Of course, the Texas guy makes a few sheckles for his trouble...

Let me know if it works. Sounds like a good racket to get in if it does. I am sure there is abig market for this but I am not sure of the legalities. Who cares if it works for you. Good luck!
