T fittings for carb vent mod?
I've been searching for brass 1/4 inch barbed T-fittings so that I can do the carb vent mod...
I've come up dry. The only thing I've found is "HELP!" brand generic t-fittings made of plastic for vacuum hose repairs, etc.
I'm a little concerned they won't hold up to possible contact with gasoline (or rather, definite contact with gasoline).
What did y'all do?

I just used the auto windshield washer line splitters. I figured they have some sort of resistance to cold and the chemicals of the washer.
Worse comes to worse, there in a place that enables visible inspection and if they crack or whatever, I'll replace them for a few cents... I wouldn't sweat it....

I just used the "Y" fitting from the help section like everyone else. Remember these are vent lines, its not like gas is flowing thru them.

Yeah, I guess plastic is OK... Gas doesn't flow thru it, but when you lay the bike over gas might start pissing out of the vent lines...
So, if the bike were upside down, the gas might come out the top vent, and soak the seat foam or something...

the theory is that if you ride thru water that is high enough to cover both vent lines the bike willstall. those ventlines come out of the carb and are routed to the bottom of your bike near yourrear shock.
what you do is put a "T" or a "Y" fitting inthe line and route another line up under the seat so that the bike will contue to get air as you go thru the water.

I don't understand why you guys are doing this vent line mods. These two vent linescome from the same carb float area on oposite sidesof the carb. Why not just run one up and one down?

They are both on the float bowl.
So I repeat:
"Why not just run one up and one down?"
I agree with this:
"At any rate they both draw a vacuum.
Start the bike and stick the vent tubes into a glass of water and watch what happens.
I was surprised . "
