Sorry for the threadjack.

Tentatively July 29th for Kamloops to Ainsworth Hot Springs. I'm open to suggestions for hotels to stay anywhere near those two areas. What town are you guys in? Anything POI's shouldn't miss on this route?

This is our route at the moment. Street bikes this trip... Somebody suggested getting off at Revelstoke and taking 23 to Nakusp but I think this looks better.

That #23 south of Revy is pretty nice, as is the #3a on the east shore of Kootenay lake if you get the chance. Just beware that there are some ferry rides across lakes involved (but they are free and they give your butt a much needed break!)

On the other hand, the Icefields Parkway between Banff & Jasper is freakin amazing! Just lookout for tourists in RVs!

Once you are in Alberta, I'd take Hwy 1a between Canmore & Morley rather than Hwy 1. You'll spend about 1/2 hour more doubling-back but the scenery and twisties will be worth it!

What kind of bike(s) are you going to be on?

Ok, back to the thread! Thanks for all the comments guys.

I will try the stock suspension pre-load first, if that doesn't work out then I will think about a stiffer spring. Does anyone know what the stock rear spring is rated for? I think the front is 0.43kg/mm.
