Default Surprise Footpeg Find

Just received these:

http://www.d2moto.com/Items/FP022

Platform pegs that fit exactly, are much bigger than the stock foot biters, and only cost $30 for both, including shipping. Not sure why or how they are so cheap. Probably sourced in volume out of China.

The design is very good. The platforms are low and wide and backset a little, which is preferred. The fit is spot on, no need for modifications. The resting angle is level.

They are investment cast and likely cast carbon steel and not cast stainless steel because they are painted. Yield strength and ductility should be very good. The teeth are cast more rounded, but you can sharpen them with a file for more grip.

And no, this Newbie didn't search to see some of you have had endless discussions and arguments about footpegs. This is a find. FYI take it or leave it.

EF,

Newbie? Didn't you just ride 720m to get the bike home? Maybe new here, but certainly not a newbie.

No need to get defensive/offensive about a new find. All of us want all the information we can find - and there is very little here about pegs. Your input is most appreciated.

And ductility? Man, you just sent JRock to the garage to find that last roach and an abridged dictionary - j/k.

Seriously, find it, post it and let the Devil take the hind most. We are all the better for it.

Just rode with the things today and they are really quite good for the money. A huge improvement over stock. Not so sharp on the teeth, which could make `em a bit slick when gorpy, but that's easy to fix. You can TIG weld little weld dots on top of each tooth or sharpen them.
