Wink Suggestions to replace KLX 250s rear fender?

Hello all

I'm about two seconds away from taking a hacksaw and 'bubba modding' the rear bumper on my bike. I really want to replace it before I tear it off accidentally one of these days when on the trails.

I see many of you have some sleek fenders on your KLX bikes. Can you shoot me some links and/or some suggestions for a 2009 KLX 250s?

I've called UFO and a few other companies, but they said they can't help me.

In the true tradition of a Bobber, I'd go with the hacksaw!

Then add a number plate bracket which will get the plate up and out of the way of damage...

I expect that you're talking about the whale tail. THe actual fender, and event the small extension are far shorter than normal fenders. Loose the whale tail. Search for the edge taillight assembly, I bought mine from wheeling cycle supply.

Some folks on here have quietly bobbed the tail of this bike by removing the flat black fender extension AND the whale tail leaving only the glossy fender. Looks fine, I guess, but more importantly your back will be convered with mud and water.

No reason to cut anything. You can easily shorten the rear fender situation by removing pieces.

Ah perfect! That's what I needed!

Thank you so much for the help, Highbeam. Gonna see where I can track those down here in Pittsburgh.

And I really was kidding about the hacksaw.

The rear tail mod was one of the first mods I did to my 06. However I just recently found out that if they want, cops can write tickets for fenders that dont come half way down the back tire. Thus the ugly plastic after thought that companies stuck on most of these dualsport bikes.

It wasn't just the language, most of us respect the law and on top of that we have a few LEO's on the site.
