It sucks getting stuck!

Army - I'm in CT and have been planning on doing that same thing in ME with a couple buddies for a while... We want to just truck up there and park somewhere, set the homebase waypoint, and go... Like you said, hopefully by a river for fishing. If you want to try this, we can do it.. I'm all about surviving and hunting - I'm 100% in..

They're not MX boots but they're a very rugged military boot. They were completely filled. While waiting for my carb to drain, I had to take them off and empty them out. Pants were soaked quite a way up too. Still had fun though!

Tmoe- Those straps seem like a good idea. At the time, I really wished I had some sort of high power, mini winch mounted to the front end. Hmmmm... I wonder if they make something like that? I'm sure it's not the last time I'll find myself in that situation

looks like an east coast thing, that would never get used here, unless you covered it in sand. man i wish i had some good soil and trees to go around, all it is here is wtfo or single track around bushes. closest thing to a water hole i get is going across the curb when someones washing their car up the street.

What's up Army Copter? Nice pics!
Your bike engine died at that depth because the carb vent hoses were submerged. Theres a mod you can do that involves putting a Y fitting in the existing vent hoses, then running two more hoses up higher...preferably under the seat somewere.
Just look up 'carb vent hose mod.' Or check the sticky at the top of the page.
WestOz mentioned the same thing earlier in the thread, but maybe you didn't catch it.

Hey Tremor! Thanks for the info. For the life of me I couldn't understand why it stalled at that depth. The exhaust wasn't under water or anything. I will definitely look up mod and 'git er done!

hi armycopter
disconnect the two pink vent lines and ditch them. get some clear gas line and put them
on the vent tube's and run them along the frame and under the seat. zip tie along the
frame , you'll be good for about 3 1/2 ft of water. i did mine about a month ago deep
water crossing no worries. you'll need about 3 ft of tubing.
