I use full synthetic oil and the iridium sparkplug. The coldest temp that I have started the bike was 18 degrees. It turns over with no troubles and starts right away.

Did you get a bad batch of gas?

Have you tried just draining the carb? I've been riding every couple weeks all winter and I just run it out of gas when I park it. First up in about 5-10 seconds every time.

My bike has been sitting for a few weeks while I installed all my new stuff. It has been cold here in NY, single digits and hardly over 30 at all. Today it was around 25 when I finally finished and started it up. Now, I always let it run out of gas when I put it away.

I turned on the gas, pulled the choke, waited about 20 seconds and hit the starter. Engine turned over MAYBE one time and fired right up, ran perfect. I let it warm up and took it for a cold 20 mile ride to the self service car wash. Washed her down, hit the button and it fired up without choke. Purred like a kitten.

1. Close petcock
2. Drain carb bowl
3. Close drain
4. Open petcock
5. Start engine and ride, ride, ride.

I can't get mine to fire up...tried tipping it over, changed out the plug, charged the battery (I think it is bad) and still won't fire up..I used a spark -plug device and confirmed there is spark signal on the plug wire, but it stillwon't kick.

Recent work done: (just in case something I did is causing this)

-installed 128 main jet
-moved clip position to 3rd slot
-slide already drilled to 7/64ths
-still have stock exhaust but drilled out baffles to 1 1/8-inches
Note: There is a bit of extra stabilizer in the fuel as i accidentally doubled the dose for 1-gallon, but did add the extra 3/4 gallon of gas to help correct the mistake
The battery is currently on the charger (again) Itwas 12.17-volts (tested via multi-meter on posts w/no load) Last niteit was 12.8-volts after charging it for 2 hours at 2-amp trickle, but I ran it down today trying to get the bike running.

Anyone have any suggestions????? If not I think I will proceed as follows:
1. Let the battery charge again, maybe even leave it a while on the charger (say 2.5 hours)
2. Shut gass off at the petcock.
3. See if I can't get a hand on the drain bolt for the carb and drain it via the drain plug.
4. Turn gas back on and wait for 30 secs to fill bowl
5. Pull on the choke and try to start again.

What is pizzing me off is that I did have the bike running right after I did the carb work for about 30-45 seconds, but it quit, I started it up again and then just shut it off. I left it for a few days and now I cannot get it to start. GRRRRRRRR!!!!
