Here's the deal; one of you cats who live in a state where it's easy to get a >> street title << for a new KLX 450 will get a "processing fee" for working with me to get a new KLX 450 registered in your state and then transferred to me here in Georgia.

Anyone?

True dat, but stranger things have happened (well not stranger, but almost as strange). My brother bought a duck hunting boat on Ebay in Dallas, TX and he and I did a kamikaze trip from NC to TX and back to NC one weekend to get it. I imagine if Tennisman wants that bike bad enough he would be willing to come and get it. I know I would if it meant having the bike I want versus not having a chance of getting it at all. Sleep is for the weak!

The states that seem to be "street-title" friendly are within reach: Ohio, Texas, NC, SC, TN.

Others?

Has anyone found out any more about getting one of these street legal. I would like to look into it further in Georgia. Where should I begin my research?

It is pretty easy here in Texas and I would be willing to help out. I kind of wished I did the same instead of buying the 250 but the 450 was out of my budget.

Wher should I start. The local DMV seems like a good place, but They are not the smartest or most knowledgable folks around.

I live in MI where several of my freinds have licensed off road bikes. It's fairly easy here. You need a police officer to sign off on a form that you can take to the Secretary of State (DMV)to get the plate. What exactly are you proposing? Are you buying the bike first?

Does it have to be a KLX, or do you just want a 450? I've seen multiple web sites listing the KTM450EXC "on sale" for $7,299, which is the same as the list price on the KLX. I don't know how much it would cost to meet federal "safety and emission" standards, plus the "processing fee" you're willing to pay. It just seems like it would be a lot less hassle to but a bike ready to ride (the KTM). I too wish there was a KLX450S, but to make one almost seems like more trouble than it's worth...but that said, I'd still like to hear about it if you successfully pull it off...
