which street tires for 250S

Full disclosure: I have no experience with the Shinko 705, but I do run Shinko 700s on my SF. Based on my experience with the 700s, I would not hesitate to try the 705s if I was looking for something more street-oriented (as it sounds like you are). At the price-point, you have little to lose!
In the past, I have been devoted to Metzeler, but they have become increasingly over-priced through Canadian retailers, so I have moved away from them and sought out better value with Shinko, and I have been very pleased with the results.

I have to second this comment. I use Shinko 700's and have close to 1000 miles on them and love them so far for good street and dirt mix tires. Would recommend Shinko for the same reasons as listed above too.

2007KLX250S: “Does anyone have any experience with the Shinko 244?”
---------------------------------------------------------------------
No, but I did considerable research on the Shinko series (244, 700, & 705) before settling on the 700s, so I am familiar with the common thoughts & critiques of them. My understanding is that the 244 is very similar to the Kenda K760, although the on-road characteristics of the 244 are said to be superior.
I have heard limited complaints of the 244 chunking at highway speeds although there seems to be some question as to whether those who experienced this were running correct pressures or not. In these cases though, Shinko appears to have been honourable in replacing the tires under warranty.
Shinko claims that the 244 is a 50/50 tire (with the 700 being a 60/40 tire, and the 705 an 80/20 tire). Consider this when selecting your model.
Strictly speaking from my experience with the 700s, and also with more expensive brands such as Avon, Dunlop, Bridgestone, Michelin & Metzeler, I can confidently recommend giving Shinkos a try. I have been impressed!

I would be interested depending on what kind of tires and price.

I have been nothing but happy with the Perrelli MT90's My opinion is they make up for higher price with longevity. They have silica in the tread compound for grip and wear resistance. Got 6K out of the rear and still going with 7500 or so on the front. I am hopeing to replace the front every other rear or a little more often. I run tires with silica on my trucks also.
Would like to find something simular for the GF's SF
Cheers Jim
