Default Stock KLX250sf NEWBIE :)

Saturday I will be buying my first supermoto. It is a 09 klx250sf with only 1400 miles on it. It is completely stock and over time I would love to add some mods to it. Any suggestions tips ect?? Im new to the supermoto world and I have a dirt bike background but my street bike knowledge as of right now stops as a passenger. Im taking a safety course and am looking for some information about this new world Im about to step into. My dad is a mechanic and is going to show me the ropes of taking care of her but Ill still be on the threads getting other feedback and maybe one day can give feedback to some newbie, but as of right now Im that newbie

Ya, like Matt said just ride it and enjoy it. After a while of riding you'll start identifying mods of interest.

Sweet thanks for the input. I was wanting to also get some smaller (less bug looking) mirrors and I saw one pic of this klx with inset LED front turn signals which were really awesome. Im aware my girly wants of making it look sleeker go after making it run better haha

Is a fmf pipe pretty standard modification? I seem to see everyone with one. I looked up youtube videos and it makes it sounds a whole lot better but does it help a lot with the performance? I wont be doing any crazy freeway stuff, mostly around town things. work school ect

The LED lights in the hand guards looks cool, but they're not as bright to on coming cars. This is not an accessory to buy style over function.

You can put an FMF on easily without having to rejet.

That is a good point, Safety over Pretty
What mirrors do you have on your klx250s? Also can I cut off the seat strap that comes standard on it??

I just bought these on the link below for my KLX250s, the stock KLX mirrors suck. They came today, i mounted them and i was impressed, and they are on the cheap. They are miles better than stock. They kind of look like they belong with the shape, much better than round. Don't worry about getting fold down mirrors you will never fold down....

I like my buggy mirrors, they add character, kinda like antennas :P I prefer the dg exhaust, loud at 98 db, but only $130 compared to like $300 for a q4
