I just did the stock heat shield mod on my EVO X (is it Ok to say that instead of "Big Gun"?!??), and it worked out well.
Because there's a different bend to the head pipe, there were a few differences to the mod:
- From front to back, I used one 1/4" x 1/2" and two 1/4" x 3/4" stainless steel bolts
- The front bolt used a single spacer nut, the other bolts had 2 spacer nuts
- The hose clamp screw on the last clamp had to be placed next to the pipe (between the pipe and the carb) because there wasn't enough clearance below the pipe and the clutch actuator
Looks only slightly different from the previous pictures, but I can post one if anyone wants.
