Default Stir crazy + winter = facelift for D-tracker

Thought I'd lose a few pounds and get a more aggressive look. Decided to go with the KLX450R headlight, so at least I'd LOOK like I had low-end torque! This is phase one of the mod. Still another week before the black ('Ebony') paint comes-in, so I thought I'd get the light fitted while I wait.

Thought I could just copy what Redbrd did with his, but it turns out the Japanese market triple clamps are different and the OEM light mounts differently. After a few trips to the hardware store and some trial and error, I finally got a proper fit and adjusted the beam to spec. Ended-up having to go with slightly extended brackets on the top to get the beam low enough.

I'll be fitting an H.I.D. hight/low system to this fixture after I return from Taiwan. Right now I'm running with the OEM KLX250 55/60W halogen and it seems to work pretty well, but I like the HID for better night vision and inceased visibility to other traffic during the day. The 35W HID also runs cooler than the OEM KLX250 Halogen (fixture has plastic lens, so that puts me more at ease).

Trying to decide whether just to go with all black on the shroud or some sort of two tone....maybe just some pin-striping?..

Those Zeta handguards, with the built-in LED turn signals are very slick. . . . Nice bike!
