+1 to that.

I to bought a DID ER x-ring chain & with lots of wheelies, drag starts & hard street riding with a big bore kit....It did NOT need adjusting after 9 months!!!! My tire needed changing before the chain needed adjustment, so i will never know how long it could have gone!

Unbelievable

The Regina chain that came stock on my G650x now has 8,000 Km (5,000 mi) on it and hasn't required ANY adjustment yet. All I've done is wipe it down with Keronene and lube with gear oil every couple of tanks of gas (~500 Km or 300mi). I have already gone though two rear tires in that same period!

That's impossible on chain wear/adjustment like you claim. It can't happen.

Haha, yeah, the art of motorcycle maintenance is a constant lesson in things you previously believed to be impossible. Like getting 18 years out of a battery! Like finding a crinkled penny in the crankcase of a motor that otherwise ran perfect! Like finding the sideplate of a masterlink missing on a chain that stayed intact in spite of! And of course discovering that exotic spray chain lubes don't necessarily yield more chain life than good old gear oil!

I always use maxima chain wax. Gotta let it dry for like 15min before you ride. Chain maintenance is key to makin it last. I dont care if its solid roller chain or o/x ring chains. I do agree I would only buy o/x ring chain. Its just waay better.

LOL!...yep, the only guy at the motorcycle shop I used to work at who believed me about the chain adjustment experience was the parts guy who sold it to me. He used to race competition ATV's which are murder on chains and sprockets. He told me that particular DID chain was the schnitz. He was right.
