Stalls under hard braking at idle
#12
I thought I had it, but I just went and screwed with it and I am pretty sure this is my issue. I turned it in to 1/4 turn and it idled like crap. Went for a quick burn and it no longer stalls when I jump on the brakes. If i turn it out to smoothen the idle I am back to stalling with hard brake. I can turn it out to about 5 full turns and there is no difference between 1/2 and 5.
At least I am making progress, however it is getting to late to be screwing around on the street with it tonight.
Thoughts?

You and I are having the same issue. I thought I was too rich so I turned it more lean, but it seems to be doing the same thing! AGH

Have you checked to make sure your petcock is providing enough fuel to the bike? I had a issue before that was a mixture of a bad petcock and a vacum seal issue. Bike didn't get enough fuel when the engine was not revving.

I'm stumped....
I just installed a TM36 pumper in an 09 KLX250S with an FMF Slipon and stock cylinder. Bike runs amazing except under hard braking at idle when it just stalls. It then doesn't start on the first flick of the starter like usual, I have to crank it a couple times. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? At first I thought it was tight throttle cables but that doesn't seem to be it now that they are re-routed. I can mimic the same stall condition parked in the driveway at idle by holding the front brake and compressing the forks very quickly. Same thing when I hold the front brake and lift quickly.
It also has an IMS tank.
Ideas?

This may not be your problem, but it's something to check. Remove the choke plunger and make sure all is clean, and that nothing is interferring with the choke ****.
