I thought I had it, but I just went and screwed with it and I am pretty sure this is my issue. I turned it in to 1/4 turn and it idled like crap. Went for a quick burn and it no longer stalls when I jump on the brakes. If i turn it out to smoothen the idle I am back to stalling with hard brake. I can turn it out to about 5 full turns and there is no difference between 1/2 and 5.

At least I am making progress, however it is getting to late to be screwing around on the street with it tonight.

Thoughts?

You and I are having the same issue. I thought I was too rich so I turned it more lean, but it seems to be doing the same thing! AGH

I don't have your carb, I got a TM33 with a 32.5 pilot jet. But if you have it @ .5 turns out to get it to run right, that jet is too big.

Just to confirm you are saying go from a P6 to a P4? Figures, that is the one part Niche Cycle didn't have when I ordered the carb.

Have you checked to make sure your petcock is providing enough fuel to the bike? I had a issue before that was a mixture of a bad petcock and a vacum seal issue. Bike didn't get enough fuel when the engine was not revving.

At first I thought it was tight throttle cables but that doesn't seem to be it now that they are re-routed. I can mimic the same stall condition parked in the driveway at idle by holding the front brake and compressing the forks very quickly. Same thing when I hold the front brake and lift quickly.

It also has an IMS tank.

Ideas?

I've had this exact problem before. In my case, a tiny piece of crud got behind the choke plunger. Even though I would push the choke in to turn it off, that piece of dirt kept the plunger from fully seating, and allowed fuel to flow directly from the fuel bowl into the venturi. So under hard braking, fuel would slosh in and flood the engine out. That would also explain why when you lean the bike to the left (choke side) it floods out, but leaning it to the right has no effect.

This may not be your problem, but it's something to check. Remove the choke plunger and make sure all is clean, and that nothing is interferring with the choke ****.

Looks like I have a couple things to check out. Its going to be a month or so while I am on ex but I will definitely report back what the issue was.
