That's the classic symptoms of the carb vents being blocked. Carb needs to breathe, when submersed in water it can't, and stalls the bike, acts very similar to being flooded. Carb tee mod is the fix - basically tee off one of the vent lines and route to the airbox so there's always a source of air.

Default Kick Stand a Carby Vent mods

Thanks skubidoobie and NoBrakes.

Will do both of these mods this winter...both seem pretty simple (not like installing a kick starter, etc.)

Need to be able to ford creeks round here.
